2018 Best World Tourism Day Celebration In The Mambila Plateau (Gembu)Taraba State Nigeria-Kate Audu






The world tourism day 2018


Tourism has become an important sector that has an impact on development of country economy. The main benefits of tourism are income creation and generation of jobs. For many regions and countries it is the most important source of welfare.

2018 World tourism day was held in gembu saradauna local government area of Taraba state on the 27th of September 2018
The Taraba state tourism board in partnership with Zenith bank and mtn Nigeria,the state Beauty pageant organizers,students and the good people of Taraba state joined the motorcade of the board to the tourist centre on the 26th of September 2018.
The new miss culture was crowned during the pre-event a night before the main program.

And the event kicked off on Thursday 27th of September 2018 around 10am.

The event witness dignitaries within and outside the state,which were all Paramount to the success of the program.

Amongst all were
The MD of tourism and culture Mrs Christy Mark Useni who spearheaded the program,
The chairman of the saradauna local government council, the chairmen of the board, the traditional rulers,the registrars of the sharia and high court,permanent secretaries, Hon.commissioners of the state house of assembly, the PDP chairman, Grand khadi/president customary court of apearl,all service chiefs,the state chief judge, His excellency the deputy Governor of Taraba state and His excellency the executive Governor of Taraba state represented by the commissioner of tourism and culture.

The welcoming address was presented by the chairman of saradauna LGA after the national anthem
Speech by the Hon.  commissioner of the ministry of tourism and culture

Key note address by the managing director Mrs Christy Mark Useni
And the acknowledgement of the beauty Queen's  and kings by the master of the ceremony Mr Jovitah Shafe
Dance by the gembu cultural troupes
And the presentations of their traditional foods,farm produce and their local attires to the guest/dignitaries.

Music performance by the Taraba artists  Charlee Nathan formerly, presently known as charlee velli the peace advocate
Nick Ben the peace advocate 02
 and samsyl singing.

The presentation of awards to the winners of the following

Miss culture, 1st runner, 2nd runner and 3rd runner
The wrestling bat 1st runner, 2nd runner and 3rd runner
The horse riders,1st runner 2nd runner and 3rd runner ups were all awarded by mtn Nigeria, with the cheque of 20k for the first runners,15k for the second runners and 10k for the third runners each.
